Just think………….????????
What we think, we become.
Before we do anything in life we need to think twice before we do it.
It is neither good nor bad, but thinking makes it so.

Is Wal-Mart good for America? Who in the film would say yes? Who in the film would say no? Why/ Why not?
I don’t think Wal-Mart is good for America, Wal-Mart is a company in the US, but do not serve the USA. It’s true that everyone loves lower price, at the point it’s killing the US people will not love that. Wal-Mart by having a deal or corporation with china, is serving the china. When Wal-Mart takes the US row material to send them in china and exchange them as the manufactory material. They losing money because Wal-Mart wants to put the price lower, they send the row material to be made in china, but what they don’t understand is that they give job to the Chinese population and in the USA, people are losing jobs. Sense 2001 I think, USA economy is going badly, lower and lower, Wal-Mart maybe one of the reason why the economy of the US doing bad. In the other hand china is getting richer, they developing their country.
In the film only Wal-Mart and china will say yes, because it’s only benefitting them. But the rest like the US population will say no, because Wal-Mart is the company that is closing all those business. I’s just like monopoly

Dear Mr. Dolan
The sociological imagination is the capacity to distinguish the relationship of actions of individuals. The way I applied sociological imagination to my life is that I hate dirty places and when I clean up the house and my brother making a mess I get upset and I don’t want to clean again. My concern that I just release can be considerate as a personal trouble. For the public issue, it will concern places like the Bronx. It’s dirty city because people are not cleaning up down of their building or eating on the street and throw their trash. If they are not clean in their house where they live, I don’t think they will be cleaning the street or putting their trash in the garbage, which is how I applied the sociological imagination to my life.
I think other people will applied the sociological imagination to their life in the same way as I did. They will build their sociological imagination based on their personal trouble and then think how that maybe related to some issue in their city, society, country and the world.
I think the work I just did is wonderful, because it’s come from me, from my inspiration, my imagination by been open minded to relate my personal trouble to the major issue in our city the Bronx. This explained that I understand the sociological imagination, which makes me proud of myself.

Part 1
Personal trouble: at first when I saw the picture, the looks on the men face capture my intention. In the picture I choose the men looks tired, he looks sick and maybe he is not welcome. There is a military guy that is pointing a gun at him and ready to shut, by looking at his face I can tell that the guy is so tired that he is even ready to die.
Public issue: I think in the city or their society they lived on it the people like the military people are discriminating the people like this guy or it’s may be a war, or revolution where they fighting against the city where the guy come from.
Connection between: the connection between the personal trouble and the public issue is that the man is not welcome to that city or it may be discrimination. The fact that the military guy is about to kill the men shows that there is actually a war.
Part 2
Everything started that night, sleeping in the middle of the night; we heard a lot of noise, a lot of gun shut. Me and Lee look at each other and knew that the city was going in fire. We run to the door of the house and lock every door. At that same moment I had the big fear of my life. We hide under our bed until the morning. In the morning we came out, the city was so empty that I first thought that everyone has been killed. Worried I was on my way to my parent house to see if they all fine, but on the street we saw a group of army taking people with them. I and Lee had to hide to travel the city. We got in my parent house without getting cut, which I didn’t understand why they taking people with them. When my father heard someone knocking on the door, he didn’t want to opened, I heard him saying: “who is it? Whoever is it you need to go away from that door or I will shut you.” And I respond that father it’s me Jude your son, I’m with my friend. He opened the door, so afraid. We enter all surprised, my mother run to hug me so hard, I was wondering asking myself what is going on today. My dad tells us sit-down and joins us for breakfast. After taking the breakfast with my family and Lee in a cemetery silence, we wash the news that said all the Chinese most go back to their country because they don’t belong here. Choc by the news, I couldn’t say anything, do anything face to my Mather that was crying. Lee was all panicked; he said that he most go check on his family too. My dad insists him to stay here from now but I wouldn’t. He opened the door and run, by the time I run after him I saw that the army had taken him with them. Standing far away I saw one of the men army pointing to gun at Lee ready to shut him. I couldn’t look at, I couldn’t stand there anymore, by seeing that look on Lee face, I refuse to think that my best friend sense we were lilted is about to get killed because discrimination. He was everything for me so I turn with tear on my eyes and never looks back, just keep running, that was the last time I saw Lee.
Part 3
My story is about personal trouble and public issue. The picture that I choose shows a Chinese man that was about to get killed and the men who was pointing the gun at him looks different than him. That’s the reason why I wrote about discriminationation against the Chinese people. In the story the personal trouble is that Jude and his best friend Lee are choc and panicked because they hearing a lot of gunshot. On the street they hiding to go to Jude family house because they don’t want to be cut by the army on the street that take people with them. The public issue is that in that country there is discrimination against the Chinese people. They want them go back where they come from, to go back to their country. And now all the Chinese living in that country are choc, panicked and scared. Now they are forced to leave all those memory in that country and go. I wonder how they new life will be. They will have to go back to their country and try to adapt to everything. Also in this story there was a climax and irony, the climax was when the army man killed Lee. The irony was when Lee was running to go check on his parent but he got killed, he didn’t even saw his family before he died.

Transport Bill Passes in House, Setting Up Fig
WASHINGTON, Oct. 23— The House today passed a six-year, $151 billion transportation bill, setting the stage for two likely fights — one with the Senate and another with the Administration — over how to dole out money to the states for highways and mass transit.
Although the lopsided vote of 343 to 83 put members of both political parties squarely behind the bill, the outcome of the legislation remains clouded. In June, the Senate passed a five-year, $123.5 billion bill that differs from the House version in several important ways. The Bush Administration has threatened to veto any legislation that resembles either version, objecting to increases in spending on mass transit, the extension of gasoline taxes and the high ratios of Federal spending to state spending.
Americans Hail Europe’s Trade Bloc Plans
PARIS, Oct. 23— American executives, in a series of interviews today, applauded the agreement between the 12-nation European Community countries and the 7-nation European Free Trade Association to create a barrier-free market of 380 million people in Western Europe, saying it would reduce the cost of doing business in Europe and spur the Continent’s economic growth.
For Becton Dickinson, the medical supplies company, the accord means that new products it introduces in Europe would have to satisfy one harmonized set of standards, rather than many sets.

Write about one “trouble” and how it is connected to an “issue”
Trouble: I hate dirty places, when I’m in a dirty place I fell dirty. At home when I clean I have my brother that always makes a mess, tired of cleaning up after my brother’s mess I told my mother that I will not clean the house any more. My mother tries to convainst me to always keep cleaning after him, just because he is my brother. I explain to my mother that he is not no more a kid, he should know the difference between the good and the bad, because I’m tired cleaning over and over again, everyone should be responsible for their action.
Issue: we do have that problem of sanitation in our city for example “the Bronx”. In the Bronx, you can be walking in the street and see a lot of trash everywhere and that can pollute the air that we all breathe. Also in our school for example in Bronx international high school lunch room, after we ate in the lunch room, that room become messy, there is food everywhere, it’s look discosting. I thing this all thing come from others people not cleaning up. Other teams of our school refuse to clean and that influence other team and that’s how we end it up by having a dirty lunch room after we had lunch. Everyone needs to participate, take their responsibility, clean after their mess, because we all need to study and live in a clean room, clean school and clean city.

Based on today’s reading and worksheet #3, write 1-3 paragraphs explaining how sociology is different from other social science.
The difference between sociology and other social sciences is that sociology is the study of human society and social interaction as a whole. It takes the broad approach to helping us understand the different societies in which we live. Other social sciences dig deeper into specific areas of our social surroundings.
History, the social science that focuses on past events. Historians attempt to unearth the facts that surround on event that they are trying to explain. The focus of political science is politics or government. Political scientists study the ways that people govern themselves their forms of government and how these forms are related to other institutions of society. The focus on economics also concentrates on a single social institution. Economists study the production and distribution of the material goods and services of a society. The focus of anthropology is the sister discipline of sociology. The chief concern of anthropologists is to understand culture, a people’s total way of life. The focus of psychology is processes that occur within the individual, inside what psychology call the” skin bound organism.
As you can notice sociology has many similarities to the other social science. Like history, sociologists also attempt to establish the social contexts that influence people. Sociology is also similar to political science that is sociologist, too, study how sociology govern one another, especially how government affects people’s lives

Part 1
What is the difference between sociology and biology? The difference between is the study of human social behavior, especially the study of the origins, organization, institutions, and development of human society. And biology is about science of life and of living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution
What is an example of social life or social interaction or social change or groups or societies or human behaviors that is interesting to you? Why? Some example of social life is work place, parties, street, bars, church, facebook, any place public. Those places are interesting to me because, in those place people get the chance to socialize, to build friendship and more.
Part 2
Using worksheets #1 and #2. Write 1-3 paragraphs. Explaining how the natural sciences are different from the social sciences.
Natural science studies nature (earth, mountains and streams, stars, elements, atoms and molecules, gravitational and magnetic and electrical force, light), whereas social science studies human societies and, to some degree, the artifacts and institutions that these societies produce and through which they operate (including languages, art-works, religions, political systems, and ways of thinking).
Sciences like biology and psychology have both natural-scientific and social-scientific components, since they deal with human beings both as natural beings for example in terms of features that non-human animals and non-living things have too— features like “having a digestive system” and “being made of atoms and social beings for example as participants in societies.
The social sciences examine human relationships. Just as the natural science attempt to understand objectively the world of nature, the social sciences attempt to understand objectively the social word. Just as the world of nature contains ordered (or lawful) relationship that are not obvious but discovered through controlled observation.

• Read the document called “What is Sociology?” Sociology is the study of society. The study of human social behavior, especially the study of the origins, organization, institutions, and development of human society.
• In your own words, write what you think sociology is. In my own words sociology is when you, meet people, communicate with them, make friendship, and build a family. Also it will be all about the community, the society because we make it happen we make everything in the society change and amelioration
. • Would hallway culture at Bronx International HS be interesting to a sociologist? Why?The culture at Bronx international high school is to socialize and yes it will be interesting to a sociologist because, students in the hallway waste times by talking to each other, screaming, joking, in another word they waste time just by socializing. The sociologist can be interested by that because, it’s will see how students at BIHS can’t stop socializing between class and how it’s affect their class hours.
• What else might be interesting to a sociologist? Why?A sociologist might be interested to see our lunch room, which is also a place where we socialize, to see how it’s dirty after lunch. Also he might interested to know how we socialize perfectly with each other knowing that we from different countries and different culture
